AREC Education Essentials – January 8, 2025 License Examination Outline Updates You may recall an email that was sent last July regarding Pearson VUE updating the national salesperson and broker outlines. Their explanation is below:Pearson VUE periodically organizes meetings to enhance the real estate licensing exams. Moreover, to stay abreast of the dynamic changes in the real estate industry, we've recently updated the content outlines for the general exams. Collaborating closely with ARELLO and subject matter experts nationwide, we have ensured these updates reflect the current industry standards. Furthermore, our content development team has facilitated meetings where additional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) created, reviewed, and approved new test questions for implementation in the general exams. After this was advertised with an effective date of August 22, Pearson VUE changed the schedule based on responses from distance education providers. They have now identified an effective date of April 1 for these changes. As explained previously, you will see minor adjustments throughout the outlines including more detailed information in some areas and changes in the number of items in each cognitive level (Knowledge, Application, and Analysis). Please understand that these are not major changes that will completely alter license examinations. Pearson VUE is simply adding more detailed information and changing the cognitive levels in some areas. We have attached both a final outline and an outline showing the changes for each examination to allow you to see the specific changes that were made. We will replace the current outlines in Education Resources and Instructor Resources on our website prior to the effective date of April 1. If you have any questions, please contact the Education Division at 334-242-5544.
