Treasurer Nominee: Amanda Adams

Specializing in sales pre-license education and earning her instructor license in 2016, Amanda teaches the 60-hour Alabama Salesperson Pre-License course and the Alabama Real Estate Tutor cram course. Not satisfied with the materials available on the market, Amanda has written two textbooks to help her students successfully pass the real estate course and the state licensing exam. Amanda also serves as the Alabama instructor of record for Real Estate Express (McKissock/Colibri) and hosts webinars to a national audience six times per week.

Amanda served at the 2019 AREEA president. With a background in graphic and web design, she has served as the webmaster for AREEA since 2018. Having a reputation as a “techy,” Amanda is well-versed in the major office productivity and content development products, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat, ZOOM, GoToWebinar, GoToMeeting, WebEx, plus LMS systems (Learning Management Systems used to build on-line courses) platforms Schoology and Talent LMS.

Amanda also has successfully navigated the ARELLO approval process, receiving ARELLO approval for both her pre-license and post-license synchronous courses. She also hosted a workshop via AREEA to help other Alabama instructors traverse the ARELLO approval procedure.

Amanda is an associate broker at Intervest Realty in Montgomery and a member of MAAR, the Montgomery Association of REALTORSĀ®. Between 2021 and 2022, Amanda has served on two AREC Education Taskforces to help guide and improve the direction of real estate education in Alabama. She has also taught two AREC-approved Instructor Development Workshops and serves and the CREI trainer along with James Anderson.

With Amanda's tech skills and experience with the inner workings of the AREEA website and contact database, she would be an excellent treasurer.

Director Nominee: Joy Everson

Hello AREEA!

I’m Joy Everson, Associate Broker with RealtySouth Shelby and a licensed real estate instructor since 2013.  I teach pre-license, post license and AREC approved CE courses. The designations and awards that I hold are GRI, SFR and MRP, Spirit award and Good neighbor award.

I’ve been a part of AREEA for several years and I believe that I can contribute to the organization based upon my knowledge as an instructor. For more than 20 years as a real estate professional, a member of my church committees and as a community involvement leader, serving others is my passion. I have been married to my husband (assistant pastor) for 30 years, with five children and seven grandchildren. Togetherness and communication means the world to me!

Having mentored my fellow real professionals for most of my real estate career, I am ready to commit my time to AREEA as a team member to serve and collaborate with my fellow colleagues. While you may have others to choose from, I am committed to the process and would appreciate your vote!

Best regards your incoming Board Member!

Joy Everson

Board Director Nominee: Marilyn Dumpson

Good Day,

My name is Marilyn Dumpson and I have been in real estate for eight years. For two of those past years, I have been teaching the 60-hour pre-license course and the 30-hour post-license course.

Currently my school, Premiere Academy Career Center is contracted with Bevill State Community College to teach the 60-hour pre-license course. Premiere Academy Career Center is also contracted with BF Goodrich Industries in Tuscaloosa.

I am currently the Associate Broker at Exit Capstone Realty in Tuscaloosa. I also teach the 30-hour post-license course at Exit Capstone. My goal is to teach excellence and to teach new agent so that we may grow in greatness together.

Board Director Nominee: Walt Hennessee

My teaching experience with the AREC began in 2007. Since then, I have taught Pre-License, Post License, and Continuing Education classes and written and developed three CE classes (358-Introduction to New Construction, 261-Measuring Square Footage, and 079-Listing and Buying Forms Usage). I have over 11,000 positive agent reviews on my CE classes over this period of time. Only two were negative for ending early.

My experience with AREEA goes back to sometime before 2010 and have been a member ever since. I have served on the AREEA BOD and as President in 2014. That year no one wanted the position, so I volunteered.

I have the following certifications:

  • CDEI (Certified Distant Education Instructor)
  • CREI (Certified Real Estate Instructor)

My DE classes consist of two Risk Management Distant Education classes available through WEB CE (0952 and 0120).

Currently, I am the Owner/Broker of Zeriss Realty, LLC with two offices and sixty agents along with an AREC-approved school, the Zeriss Institute.

I would like to serve on the BOD of AREEA because I feel I have the experience and leadership skills to have a positive influence on the direction of the association.
